Thanet used to be an
island...so the good news is .....anywhere you choose to live
is no more than 5 miles from a beautiful sandy beach or rugged
coastline.........
So....your choice of places to live or visit is
varied....... Olde Worlde Broadstairs with
its narrow streets, .........Bustling commercial Ramsgate with
its busy Marina and Sea
Port (Ferry to Ostende) and street market.... Kiss me Quick Margate
with its beaches
and amusement arcades....
or..if you prefer the
less commercial ...there are many other bays, beaches and
smaller village type
communities dotted around Thanet ...all with their own
special
attraction or ambiance......and....remember ....
all the rest of
coastal east kent is but a short journey away....places like...
Sandwich, Deal, Dover,
Folkestone Herne Bay, Whitstable...etc..the list is endless....
p.s.--fancy a quick day trip to France or Belgium.... no problem...(just dont forget
your
passport)
Then....by way of a change ..consider visiting Canterbury and the rest of
rural Kent
as it is
equally as near and definitely equally worth getting to know
Anyone who visited Thanet five years ago
simply would
not recognize it now...
thanks to the
area regeneration program...Thanet is now a thriving, modern busy
community..with its
very own central rapidly expanding "Bluewater" Type Shopping
Centre
at Westwood Cross.... interesting Ramsgate Marina and Sea Ferry Port,
extensive rail links from
just about everywhere
in Thanet up to London and beyond,...
and last but definitely not
least......a fast developing International Airport at Manston....
All this and
less than 50 Miles from the M25... .....( even less to the Duty-Free
Wines
available on the French Coastline )
Away from the leisure and sight-seeing aspects of Thanet.......there are literally
hundreds of New Housing Developments, A Multi-Million
Facelift to the Main Hospital
in Margate..... Modernized Schools and Nurseries, Most Doctors now see patients in
"state of the art" Clinics or Health Centres........
Work Prospects at all levels in the Service Sector are at an all time
high, Retail shopping
choice now rivals anywhere in the Uk...the list just goes on and on and on
...........
The Festivals, Arts & Culture scene has never been more
buoyant...etc...etc...are you
getting the picture yet...????
Consider this...many
of
the retailing " Big Names"
( M&S..Tesco's...Debenham's..
The Curry's group....etc)
and housing development companies such as McCarthy &
Stone and Churchills are
investing Millions in Thanet right now
.........and these
coupled with other
projects planned for the not too distant future have to be basing
their plans on serious projections.....
ally this to the forecast that the S.E. part of England .....(if global warming predictions
are correct) could become the next "Riviera" or
"Costa" ....points to Thanet being a good
place to live right now ....and
for many years to come...
